Line-X of Ottawa was founded in 1999, by owner and operator Lorne Edmonds. The Spray on Boxliner industry was in its infancy and Line-X of Ottawa began as a small operation that offered truck box spray on protection. Through hard work, belief in the product and determination to succeed he recognized that Line-X of Ottawa could become the industry leader in spray on protective coatings. Backed by the world’s largest protective coating corporate network, who work with over 500 locations in over 46 countries, we are proud to offer our clients high-quality protective coatings for a variety of applications, while still focusing on our true passion – pickup truck boxes.

Lorne and and his business partner John Symington opened a second full service location in Ottawa in 2007 serving the areas West end clients. In 2015 they opened a third location in Petawawa, serving Pembroke, Petawawa and the Valley. This location boasts a beautiful new building that also houses a Ziebart Uniglass Plus franchise that takes care of your rust protection needs as well as windshield repair and replacement. In early 2017 they opened another location at 65 Lombard street in Smiths Falls. This store also houses a Zeibart Uniglass Plus franchise making it their fourth total protection coatings store. The main business is still Line-X and pick up truck boxes are still the bulk of what they spray but the scope of work that they do goes well beyond just truck boxes.

In addition to protection services, our accessories division has grown tremendously over the years, carrying just about every name-brand accessory, including truck caps from Leer and a new label, Truck Gear Accessories by Line-X. Working with over 52 new and used dealerships throughout the area, we treat their vehicles with the level of respect and care that we would show our own.

The window tinting part of the business has become so popular it has branched out as its own division called Enviro Films and concentrates heavily on residential and commercial tinting but continues to protect vehicles windows as well.
